effnews part two
11th September 2002
Fetching and Parsing RSS Data is the second installment of the effnews project, a series of tutorials on creating an RSS news reader in Python. This time topics covered include exception handling and event based XML parsing using xmllib
.
Incidentally, the article is hosted on zone.effbot.org, which calls itself Fredrik Lundh’s brainstorming subsite
and seems to be a Wiki-style repository for miscellaneous articles and pieces of content. It contains a wealth of interesting Python tidbits if you’re willing to spend some time browsing around. I’m a big fan of what I call the Wiki model of content management (one namespace, a free form navigation structure) and the zone looks is a great example of this model in action.
